The artistic expression has been a constant presence in the life of Lucille, Mexican artist born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. From early childhood she demonstrated a definite leaning toward the world of the images, with her parents support, she lived a childhood in a mixture of play, study, drawing and painting.
She started her education in arts in 1969 she enrolled in the School of Visual Arts. From then on, she has participated in numerous exhibitions, both individually and collectively.
Her works have been sold to collectors from Mexico, U.S., Germany, Sweden, England, Norway, Canada, France and Colombia.
Lucille puts within our grasp her inner world, drawing us in with her pictorial strength in an atmosphere of temptation, conflict, seduction, mysticism and vulnerability, to an intemporal place where the shrieks of the soul dwell. Her work lives and talks the universal language of the melancholy, it is as full with life as the spectator’s feelings.
As you cannot ignore a person which on a street bushes against you, you cannot ignore this work which puts you in contact with the elemental experiences of life to the point to make you shudder, The identification with the works of Lucille takes emotions than with the physical world. When you contemplate the paintings, you cannot help but think of life itself trying to break the barrier of silence to establish communication with you.
In her most recent work, it is appreciated the usage of visual and tactile effects which evoke altered states of heightened sensibility of the basic experiences, both happy and sad, of love.
Her technique shows a masterful handling of color, both in wood and canvas, with daring combinations of textures and figures which forms an amalgam in which the canvas and the figure melt into an exquisite oneness.
